Room Inside a Box

I started this blog as a soundboard for some much needed therapy during my separation with my wife throughout much of 2005. It was truly a blessing to get my thoughts out there through the writing process. Thankfully things have worked out between us. I would have continued to blog, but ever since I started my teaching career, I have found it impossible to do as much blogging as I would like to. So now I hope to periodically post as time and energy allow.

Reading Rosenblatt in Reading

The poet asks God, "Where do you go to get away?"

Standing in the halls of Reading High School, watching a kid yell at another smaller than he, "what, What, WHAT!" I am paralyzed. When Pilate did the same thing to Jesus, he was paralyzed, too.

God took thousands of years to send Jesus to earth because the fear of what he had created paralyzed him. Jesus and his dad can still feel the sting. If Jesus ever does come back, it won't be for an extraordinarily long amount of time.

hello tj! found out you blogged and thought i would comment. now i might not have any deep things to say but i can say one thing its what we do with our life while we wait for Jesus to come back is what we should be concerned about. i don't know when God will come back but seeing how much grace God gives to us ALL He might not come back until the very last second He can wait for that one more soul to belong to Him. as long as there are people that keep praying and trying always to do the right thing no matter how small we are passing on just a small small part of Gods heart to others. i heard a pastor one time say how long it took for noah to build the ark and how long it took for that door to actually shut. God doesn't want anyone to persish put He does wait for us to open the door for Him to come into our lives. i pray for you kids and others since the power of prayer releases the power He has to work in the hearts of you all. learning to be content in everything is not always easy but it is what God needs each of us to learn. it sound like i am putting on rose colored glasses but its goes deeper than that. its a way of life and attitude towards everything. another good thing to remember that love is not a feeling its an action. well, as you teach the kids in school you might not be able to talk about God right out but they can see the Spirit of God coming out of you in the way you care for them, talk to them or just smile at them. when i worked on the play gound i am finding out every now and again the difference that i made in some of those kids. God never makes a mistake where He plants us. always something to do or learn or both! :) well, i hope your time teaching at Reading High i do hope God will show you some to the beautiful flowers that come from the seeds you do scatter. love and prayers

Hey Tom,
Don't know if you post on this blog anymore or even if you still live in Tamaqua. I used to live there myself for many years. A thoughtful blog and I hope you will post again soon.
